This is a 100% wool, handwoven rug. The soumak weave is a flat weave so that there is no pile on the carpet. It is washed only with water and the weave is constructed so that the rug is reversible. The color and pattern on both sides is identical. The only difference between one side and the other is that one side has a texture that is slightly more coarse than the other.
